Deep Cleaning

A comprehensive clean of every area of a property, including spaces and surfaces that regular maintenance cleans don't typically reach. Carried out by an experienced team.

What a deep clean actually involves

A deep clean is different from a regular maintenance clean in both scope and time. Where a standard clean maintains the existing level of cleanliness in a property, a deep clean aims to reset it — getting into areas that accumulate dirt gradually over months or years without being properly addressed.

It typically takes a full day, sometimes more for larger properties. We work methodically through each room, covering areas that require particular attention: inside ovens, behind appliances, inside cupboards and wardrobes, under furniture, around extractor fans, along skirting boards, around window frames. The result is a property cleaned to a higher baseline than regular visits can maintain on their own.

What's covered in a deep clean

Oven & Hob

Full oven clean including racks, door glass and hob. Grease and carbon removed using professional-grade products.

Fridge & Appliances

Inside fridge cleaned and deodorised. Washing machine drum and door seal cleaned. Microwave inside and out.

Cupboards & Wardrobes

Shelves wiped, doors cleaned inside and out. Drawers emptied (if empty) and cleaned. Hinges and handles wiped.

Grout & Tiles

Tile surfaces scrubbed and grout lines treated. Limescale removed from bathrooms and kitchens. Sealant around fixtures cleaned.

Windows, Frames & Sills

Internal window glass cleaned, frames and sills wiped down, blinds dusted. External windows not included unless discussed.

Skirting Boards & Fixtures

Skirting boards, light switches, plug sockets, door frames, door handles and light fittings all cleaned.

Note: The exact scope is always confirmed before we start. Some items — such as walls, carpets requiring specialist treatment, or external windows — may require separate arrangements. We'll discuss this during the booking process.

When a deep clean is most useful

There are several situations where clients typically book a deep clean:

  • End of tenancy — whether leaving a property or preparing it for a new tenant. Letting agents and landlords often require a professional clean as part of an inventory check-out.
  • Moving into a new home — to start with a clean baseline rather than relying on what the previous occupants did or didn't clean.
  • After building work or renovation — construction dust gets into everything. A deep clean after work is completed is the most effective way to deal with it.
  • Seasonal deep cleans — some clients book once or twice a year as a top-up to their regular maintenance cleaning schedule.
  • Preparing a property for sale — a thoroughly cleaned home presents better during viewings and photography.

How we approach the day

We arrive with everything we need and work through the property in a systematic way — usually kitchen and bathrooms first, then bedrooms, then living areas and hallways. We'll confirm the priority areas with you beforehand.

We work carefully. We don't rush, because the point of a deep clean is thoroughness. At the end of the visit, we're happy to walk through the property with you so you can check everything is as it should be. If anything falls short, we address it before we leave.

Questions about deep cleaning

How much does a deep clean cost?
Pricing depends on the size of the property and the scope of the clean. We give a clear estimate after discussing your requirements — we don't charge by the hour, so you know upfront what you're paying.
Do I need to be present during the clean?
Not necessarily. Many clients, particularly those booking end-of-tenancy cleans, aren't on site. We'll check in at the end of the day and you can review the work afterwards.
What if the property is particularly dirty?
We've cleaned properties in a wide range of conditions. If we think additional time will be needed, we'll let you know before starting rather than just billing more at the end.
Will this pass a letting agent's inventory check?
We can't guarantee an outcome we don't control, but we clean to a thorough professional standard. The vast majority of clients using us for end-of-tenancy cleans report no cleaning-related deductions from their deposit.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as possible. Deep cleans take a full day, so we have limited availability. A week or more notice is ideal, though we do occasionally have short-notice availability.
